What? Free stuff in supermarkets? Well, we have to go there on the double! If this is what you think of when you hear of free stuff in supermarkets then hold your horses, because it is not what you think of. All the free stuff that a supermarket will give is garbage and samples of all sorts of their products. Taking into consideration the fact that you are not interested in the leftover cardboard boxes that Wal-Mart throw away, we will presume that you are interested in the free samples. You will find all sorts of free samples for all sorts of products. You may find free food samples like corn flakes or other cereal, cheese, meat or other food samples or even perfume samples. If you are interested in what a product tastes like then you should go to the supermarket when they give away free stuff.
So, to put things in order again, there aren’t any really free things given away by supermarkets. Supermarkets don’t even have control over the things that are given for free. The ones that give things for free in the supermarkets are actually employees of the certain brand of food, perfume or other things that give free samples. These people are hired to promote the certain product that they give for free for a certain company. These products, as earlier mentioned, are given away in small amounts of course, to customers who wish to taste or try them out. This way they will know how those certain products taste or smell In the case of perfumes and this will encourage them buy those certain products. It is a way of marketing that the makers of some products be those salamis, cheese or perfumes, use to promote their products. This way they can be sure that people will try out their products and might buy them, depending if they really like the products they tried out. There are a lot companies that hire people to give away for free samples of their products in order to increase their profits. It this way of making money really works, only the companies that do it know for sure.
So, as a conclusion, there is no free stuff given away by the supermarkets in the right sense of the word. There are free samples of some products that are actually for a promotional purpose but you will never see someone in a supermarket give away a free TV or a refrigerator.
